1908.4.28 – Great Western Hotel, Sheridan, Wyoming
Letter
Sheridan, Wyo. April 28, 1908 Dear Bertie: I did not get away from here as I expected to this p.m., as just before train time, I “treed a coon,” in the shape of a man who wanted my agency. So I stayed over to close up with him. Will probably sell him $400 or $450 worth of goods, and tonight have just finished selling a dealer $118.00 worth, and had sold before I saw the man who wanted the agency, to consumers about $160.00. So it looks like I will go out of here with about $700 sales. Now wouldn’t we celebrate, if I were home! I am working very hard but am enjoying it all. I have been going since 9 this a.m., and it is now 10 p.m., and I yet have probably two hours writing before me. But I hope the end is worth the means, as I am trying awfully hard to make a record. I am still quite well, and hope this may find you all quite as well. As I have nothing of a special nature in the way of news, I must hurry up, or I will be late getting to bed. So with my dearest love to you and the little ones, and lots of hugs and kisses, I am, Lovingly, Your husband, Geo. W.D.
