1908.5.18 – Commercial Hotel, Rock Springs, Wyoming

RE.LE.COLLBER.55

Commercial Hotel Mrs. A. Keirle, Proprietress Rock Springs, Wyo. Monday, May 18, 1908 My dear Wife: I am just now packing my “duds” preparatory to taking the night (9:30) train for Pocatello, Ida. Contrary to my surmise, I have had another killing today, and have sold in this God forsaken town, $285.00 worth of goods to consumers, and that is a red feather for me. No joke, I am delighted at the result of the days work, and if I had you here, or I was there (at home) this minute, I would give you a hug, that you would remember. I am feeling fine, as you can guess, and feel sure I will get some nice business at Pocatello. I have had no letter from you since the 11th inst, but am leaving forwarding instructions to send my mail to Pocatello, where I hope to have lots of good news from you and the little folks. It now seems that I am getting nearer home, and O, how anxious I am to see my dear ones. I met a gentleman here today and yesterday, from South Dakota City, who knows J. M. Vets, an old Brickhamman friend of mine. Isn’t it queer how I am meeting people who know people I know? I will have lots to tell you when I get home, and have many little “sweet nothings” for your alone, that I will whisper to you when I see you once again. Now my dear, I must hustle for the next train, which will bring me 10 hours nearer home and dear ones, and in miles probably 300 nearer. So with a sweet good night, and best wishes for your welfare, with lots of hugs and kisses, I am Lovingly your husband, Geo. A. D.
