Dear Bessie: This is just to let you know I am still at Portland, and will leave for Astoria some time during the week, probably in a day or so, and maybe not until later part of the week. As there seems to be some reason why I do not hear from you, and one that I cannot understand, I will ask for no further explanation, and unless it is sickness at home that keeps you from writing, I will not ask you again to write me unless you feel disposed to. When you feel like writing, I shall be pleased to hear from you I am sure. Will you kindly, at least, do me the favor of forwarding any mail after the receipt of this to Astoria, Ore. I have not yet received my daily cards for this week, and as it is necessary I should have them, I will feel favored to have them forwarded at once. I hope this will find you all well. I am well as usual. With my dearest love to you, and lots of kisses for all, Lovingly your husband, Geo. W.D.
