Description

Child’s Button Boots Leather with button closure, c. 1885–1905 High-ankle leather boots fastened with buttons were standard footwear for children in the late Victorian period, reflecting adult fashion in miniature form. Children—especially from middle-class families—were dressed as miniature adults in the Victorian era. These boots mirror adult women’s button boots almost exactly, just scaled down.
